Shikha tells Indianexpress.com that notifications are being sent at present to consumers who have signed up to the BESCOM Mithra smartphone application. “Frequent notifications are sent to consumers via the app whenever there is a power cut expected in their respective areas due to in the event of maintenance work in feeders or for tree trimming,” she says. This is being done to ensure an automated SMS notification system works efficiently to provide the right information to the concerned consumer in the light of power cuts. Click here to read full story 16:14 (IST) 06 Jun 2019 Strengthen surveillance in BBMP hospitals for Nipah cases: Mayor Bengaluru Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun has issued a circular to BBMP hospitals and primary health care centres across 198 wards to strengthen surveillance in view of detection of Nipah virus in Bengaluru. The BBMP has also issued a public notice informing citizens on symptoms and steps to be taken in the event of diagnosis. “Treatment is available in BBMP hospitals,” reads the notice.
