BENGALURU: A 43-year-old man riding pillion died after he was thrown off the two-wheeler when the biker tried to avoid hitting a dog near Nandagudi in Hoskote taluk. Munegowda, a resident of Kondrahalli village, who sustained injuries on June 8, died on Wednesday at a hospital in Whitefield. His brother-inlaw, Shiva Kumar, 40, a resident of Nagarenahalli, also fell from the vehicle but escaped with minor injuries.Shiva Kumar said he spotted the dog when they reached D Shettihalli-Nagarenahalli Road. He lost control over the bike when he suddenly swerved to avoid the dog. Munegowda sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to another hospital where he breathed his last at 5pm. Sulibele police have registered a case against Shiva Kumar based on a complaint by Nagarathnamma, wifeof Munegowda. Speeding van kills 90-year-old A 90-year-old man was killed after he was knocked down by a pickup van on Tumakuru Road near Marohalli Cross on Wednesday. Bairaiah was a resident of Byadarahalli off Magadi Road. Nelamangala traffic police said Bairaiah was crossing the road at Marohalli Cross at 10.30am when the speeding vehicle hit him. He was rushed to nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries at 1pm.
