BENGALURU: A 31-year-old homemaker who sustained head injuries while go-karting inside E-Zone Club, on Outer Ring Road near Marathahalli, on Sunday evening has filed a police complaint. A Pushpalatha, a resident of B Narayanapura in east Bengaluru, has sought action against the supervisor of Torq03 Sports, whose go-karting services she used. Based on Pushpalatha’s complaint, HAL police have registered a case against the supervisor. According to police, the incident took place around 7.30pm on Sunday. “ Pushpalatha had worn a headgear, which gave way after she completed the first round. Once the headgear came off, her hair, which was entangled in it, got pulled into the rear wheel, dragging her head back and causing injuries,” said police, who have registered a case under section 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life of personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code. “We have summoned the supervisor to record his statement and to know if there was any negligence on his part that led to the incident,” a police officer said. An official from Sakra World Hospital, where Pushpalatha is being treated, said she suffered a cut on her scalp at the back of her head. “We have treated it with skin grafting. She is recovering well and may be discharged by Thursday,” the official said. When TOI contacted representatives from Torq03, one of them initially said Pushpalatha’s family wasn’t pursuing the case. On being informed that an FIR had been lodged with HAL police, the representative said they’d verify the same and get back. However, there was no response from the firm till the time of going to press.
